Warranty vs weekly service: when to call whom

Lucent publishes a lifetime structural warranty on construction / “comprehensive structural warranty” themes on homepage and services pages. Full written terms (exclusions, finish vs structure, transfer, soil-movement language) should be confirmed in your contract packet — public marketing is not a substitute for the fine print. Use Lucent for shell and construction warranty. Use weekly service — Lucent’s book or independent — for chemistry and the equipment pad. Wrong inbox wastes time: green water is not a structural claim, and a growing shell crack is not a shock treatment.

Texas heat and clay: reading the failure mode

Lucent’s own new-pool messaging highlights expansive clay, steel-reinforced gunite, and structural engineer involvement when needed. Clay swell/shrink is still a structural story when the shell or deck fails — that is Lucent’s warranty lane. Texas summer heat remains a chemistry story: chlorine demand spikes, algae can accelerate in roughly a couple of days of neglect, and hard fill water (often ~190–340 ppm depending on the city) scales salt cells and heaters.

Year-one rule of thumb on a Lucent pool: green water, rising filter PSI, and a tired salt cell are why weekly service exists — whether you stay on Lucent’s route or hire independent care. Cracks and major settlement are why you kept Lucent’s number. Do not confuse the two.

• If salt-equipped: schedule salt tests and cell inspections; hard North Texas water scales cells quietly
• Watch calcium/scale on tile, the cell, and the heater — plan periodic cleaning
